By Christopher Rocchio, 04/01/2008

Consider American Idol sixth-season champ Jordin Sparks among those currently enamored with the show's seventh-season resident rocker.

"Based on last week, David Cook went way up in my book," Sparks told Us Weekly in a Monday report, referring to the  25-year-old from Tulsa, OK's cover of "Billie Jean" during last Tuesday night's Idol seventh-season performance episode broadcast.

While Sparks is busy preparing to participate in Alicia Keys' upcoming "As I Am" tour -- which will kick-off April 19 in Hampton, VA -- the 18-year-old Glendale, AZ native apparently always has time for Idol.

"I'm an Idol freak!" she told Us. "I watched the show before I was on it, and I watch now.  I can't vote as much as I would like to, but I vote."

Before she hits the road as the opening act on Keys' 30-date North American tour, Sparks is scheduled to perform on Idol Gives Back, which will air live on Wednesday, April 9 at 7:30PM ET/PT on Fox.

The concert and fund-raising event benefiting various U.S. and international charities raised more than $76 million last April, and Sparks is excited to get in on the act again this year.

"I know they want it to be bigger!" she told Us.
