Jon Gosselin has publicly apologized to ex-wife Kate Gosselin for the way he behaved following the former couple's 2009 split.

"I am sorry, because I did stuff I wouldn't want done to me," the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star told People about the various women he dated after he and Kate announced they were separating and divorcing.

Gosselin told People he now also acknowledges his pre-split behavior contributed to the couple's split, which they announced on a Jon & Kate Plus 8 broadcast in June 2009.

"I was passive-aggressive," he said. "Then I'd get mad, but I was the one who wasn't communicating."

However, communication is no longer an issue for the pair now, according to Gosselin.

"I'll call [Kate] up and say, 'Mady's sick. What do I do?' And she'll tell me," said Gosselin, who is currently living near his family in Berks County, PA and dating Liz Jannetta, a 27-year-old single mom.

"She's a great Mom. We just have different parenting styles."

Gosselin also admitted that while he sued TLC over his children's continued Jon & Kate Plus 8 participation after the couple split, he's open to the possibility of returning to television himself.

"I've been offered a lot of stuff," he told People. "Crazy stuff. It wasn't the right fit, then or now. I don't want [my kids] thinking I take every show just to make a buck."
