The 37-year-old singer was appearing on "Watch What Happens Live" when he agreed to give an impromptu rendition of a song the imprisoned "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star penned for his wedding anniversary.

"Cause I'll love you forever/I'll never lie, no never/Cause you are my baby, my empress, my lady/Teresa, you are my heaven/You're my heaven," the lyrics read.

Teresa had revealed in an interview with E! News in October that Joe wrote her a song for their 17th wedding anniversary. She and Joe planned to celebrate the occasion despite him being imprisoned at Fort Dix federal correctional institution.

"He said he has a surprise for me and that he wrote me a song. I gotta pitch it out there -- he wants John Legend to sing it to me," the star said. "I send him cards all the time, and he said he's sending me a special card, too."

"I can tell he's really into me still, which is a good thing," she added. "I can't wait for him to come home and he can't wait to come home, so we're obviously doing something right."

Joe and Teresa were sentenced to 41 and 15 months in prison, respectively, in October 2014 for fraud.

The couple were allowed to serve non-concurrently on account of their four children, and Teresa completed her sentence early in December 2015.
