Drew Barrymore's half-brother has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles claiming that two women who offered to care for his brain-damaged son instead defrauded him.

In court papers, John Barrymore III says that Elsa-Lydia Rivas and her mother, Elsa Rivas Flores, tricked his son, John Barrymore IV, into selling his house and then took the proceeds, KABC-TV reports. The house in Palmdale had been bought with damages the son received in compensation for a brain injury he suffered as an infant.
Barrymore claims that Rivas offered to move into the house to care for his son, but she then convinced him to make her a co-tenant.
Like his half-sister, Barrymore is an actor and descended from the legendary Shakespearian actor and movie matinee idol John Barrymore.
