The Broadway League says theater marquee lights will be dimmed for a minute Tuesday night in honor of the late comedienne and television personality Joan Rivers.

Rivers, who died last week at the age of 81, was a fixture at New York plays and musicals. Two of Broadway's brightest stars -- Audra McDonald and Hugh Jackman -- sang at her funeral last weekend.

"Joan Rivers loved Broadway and we loved her," Charlotte St. Martin, the league's executive director, said in a statement.

"Due to the outpouring of love and respect for Joan Rivers from our community and from her friends and fans worldwide, the marquees of Broadway theaters in New York will be dimmed in her memory tonight, at exactly 6:45 p.m. for one minute."
