The 22-year-old "Jill & Jessa: Counting On" star announced she's seeing 28-year-old former soccer pro Jeremy Vuolo in a video on the TLC website on Tuesday.

"We're happy to announce that we're officially courting," Duggar said before Vuolo explained, "Which means, that opposed to a more casual dating relationship, we really want to honor the Lord and [are] being very intentional about how we move forward."

"I met Jeremy last May and then we had the opportunity to go on [a] mission trip together," Duggar added.

"It was there that I really saw his heart and really admired his character. It was after that that he contacted my dad and asked if we could get to know each other."

Duggar, the sixth-eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children, hails from a conservative Baptist family.

She and her siblings are expected to enter a formal, supervised courtship -- with no kissing until their wedding day -- as a lead-up to marriage.

"Courting is getting to know each other in a group setting, both families spending time together and the couple setting goals together to determine if they are meant to marry," Jim Bob previously told People.

"Courtship is not just about having fun," Michelle added. "You are really considering if this person could be your life partner -- you pray about it and see what happens."

Duggar met Vuolo through sister Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, who married in 2014 and share 7-month-old son Spurgeon.

The new couple's courtship will be featured in Season 2 of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On."
