Dean died last June at the age of 81 shortly after hearing he had been chosen for the honor. Williams, 71, had to bow out of Sunday's ceremony because he was suffering from bronchitis, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported.
Music stars Bill Anderson, Jim Foglesong, The Jordanaires, Charlie McCoy, Shawn Camp, Joey + Rory, Trace Adkins, Chris Young, Dailey & Vincent, The Del McCoury Band and Alison Krauss were on hand, however, to perform tributes to the pair, the newspaper said.
