Jim Belushi and Julie Newmar clawing in nasty legal battle
UPI News Service, 02/15/2005
A lawyer for actor Jim Belushi says he wants his $4 million lawsuit against his neighbor, actress Julie Newmar, to go to trial in Los Angeles.

Newmar's attorney says the "Catwoman" star is willing to take Belushi's defamation and harassment suit into mediation, the same solution Superior Court Judge Patricia Collins is hoping for, "Celebrity Justice" reports.
Court documents say Newmar destroyed landscaping and a fence that separated her Brentwood property from Belushi's, and she once told a tabloid paper Belushi is a "peeping Tom," a "voyeur" and "sick." The two have been at odds for 10 years.
Belushi lawyer Evan Spiegel says issues in the lawsuit are simply too serious to be settled out of court.
"It goes to harassment, vandalism, the defendant vandalizing my client's house with eggs," he said. "It goes on and on."
