Jewel to perform tribute during 62nd Primetime Emmys Awards show

Jewel is to perform during the In Memoriam tribute at this weekend's 62nd Primetime Emmys Awards show in Los Angeles.

The Grammy-winning artist is expected to sing an acoustic version of her as-yet-unreleased composition, "The Shape of You," at Sunday's event honoring the season's best in television, organizers said Tuesday.

The song, which Jewel wrote about the loss of a friend, will be made available on iTunes after the show. It will be used at the Emmys presentation to honor TV luminaries who died in 2009-10.

The telecast is to be broadcast live coast-to-coast from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on NBC.
