Jesse James says he is focusing on his own happiness following the breakup of his marriage to actress Sandra Bullock.

The couple broke up in early 2010 shortly after Bullock won an Oscar for her work in "The Blind Side."

The split came after James' then-mistress sold the story of their relationship to the tabloids. Bullock and James had been married nearly six years. He's now engaged to someone else.

UsMagazine.com said James appeared on TV's "Good Morning America" Wednesday to promote his memoir, "American Outlaw." During the "GMA" interview, he defends his decision to write about his extramarital affairs, as well as what it was like telling Bullock he had been unfaithful.

"I can't worry about her anymore," he said. "I think I spent a lot of the past five or six years worrying about her ... . It's time to make sure I'm happy."

James is engaged to marry celebrity tattoo artist Kat von D. She will be his fourth wife.
