'Jeopardy!' to honor 5,000th episode with New York celebrity edition

"Jeopardy" officials have decided to travel to New York to film episodes of the popular celebrity version of the show to mark its 5,000th episode.

A news release from King World said the special episodes will be filmed Oct. 5, 7 and 8 at Radio City Music Hall as part of the celebration of the game show's 5,000th episode milestone. The episodes will begin to air Nov. 8.
The popular California-based trivia show has been airing on TVs across America since 1984, when host Alex Trebek first asked contestants to phrase their responses in a form of a question.
Possible celebrity contestants for the episodes have not been revealed yet, but the show will donate a minimum $1 million to their favorite charities, the release said.
