Singer Jennifer Hudson, who lost three family members in a Chicago killing last year, is set to return to the stage at the Super Bowl, an editor says.

Billboard R&B/hip-hop senior editor Gail Mitchell said when Hudson performs the national anthem at Sunday's NFL championship, the Chicago native will likely be met with great fan appreciation, the Chicago Tribune said Saturday.
"I'm sure she's going to get thunderous applause when she comes out," Mitchell said, "and I think she's going to be able to pick up where she left off and move forward."
Hudson lost her mother, Darnell Donerson; her brother, Jason; and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, last October. The husband of her sister, Julia, has been charged in relation to the three deaths.
The Tribune said after the Super Bowl performance, Hudson is scheduled to perform at an event next Friday in honor of singer Neil Diamond and the "Dreamgirls" star is tabbed to sing at the upcoming Grammy Awards.
