The paper said Aniston would play a Texas police officer who is framed for drug trafficking and plots to escape with her cell mate, a former war protestor, played by Streep.
The book has been adapted by screenwriter Sheldon Turner, whose credits include the upcoming remake of "The Longest Yard" with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, and a planned prequel to "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
Wozencraft is a former undercover narcotics agent who wrote the novel "Rush" -- which was adapted for the screen in 1991 starring Jason Patric and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
