Jason has been sailing under the radar since the season premiered in late May, but it's clear Becca likes him and they have a connection. She finds him sincere and can't help but be aeels comfort whenever she's in his presence.
In Jason's mind, he probably felt behind the pack at this point in the season; however, it's possible Becca felt a strong connection with him from the start and didn't need to explore their relationship any further before giving him a rose.
