Actress Jamie Lee Curtis is set to join Pennsylvania retailer QVC for its annual "FFANY Shoes on Sale" fundraiser next month to help fight breast cancer.

A QVC press release said the "Freaky Friday" actress will serve as a representative of the event through appearances in a series of print and TV public service announcements leading up to the Fashion Footwear Association of New York-supported gala on Oct. 18.

As part of the 13th annual breast cancer fundraiser, over 100,000 pairs of designer shoes will be auctioned off at half their retail cost -- with all net proceeds being donated to both breast cancer research and education institutions.

"QVC and FFANY are dedicated to putting an end to breast cancer, and doing it in a way that allows everyone to participate," said the 47-year-old actress. "Just by buying a pair of shoes, you're helping such institutions as the John Wayne Cancer Institute come one 'step' closer to a cure."

The company's release said that to date the annual fundraiser -- which will air live this year on the QVC network -- has resulted in over $22 million in donations towards fighting breast cancer.
