Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert apparently didn't have an easy time getting pregnant again.

Although the Bachelor in Paradise couple announced in late January they are expecting their second child together, it apparently took them almost a year to conceive, Us Weekly reported.

"I'm 13 weeks," Jade, 32, told Us. "We were trying for 10 months and got pregnant in November."

Jade alluded to the fact it was a long wait to get pregnant for the second time when she first announced the  couple's baby news, writing on Instagram she and Tanner had been "dreaming" of the little one "for awhile now."

Jade also revealed at the time the baby is due in August 2019 and he or she is "already loved beyond imaginable."

Tanner, 31, gushed that same day how their daughter, Emerson Avery, is "excited to be a big sister."

Jade and Tanner revealed they were trying for another baby in April 2018 -- when Emerson, who was born in August 2017, was eight months old -- because they wanted her to have a sibling close in age.

When asked about Emerson's personality, Jade told the magazine, "[She] is super cuddly and affectionate."

Jade added, "I think that is a big characteristic of mine... Her favorite thing to do is to take toilet paper, put it in the toilet, get it soaked, take it out and leave chunks everywhere. She loves to explore. They are like giant spit wads!"

Things may be a little crazy in their household, but Jade and Tanner have apparently been able to keep the fire burning in their romance.

"Our motto is to take advantage of nap time," revealed Jade, who began dating Tanner several years ago. "When the baby is napping, it is mommy and daddy time."

Jade initially competed for Chris Soules' heart on The Bachelor's nineteenth season, while Tanner first appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe's edition of The Bachelorette.

Jade and Tanner met on Bachelor in Paradise in Summer 2015 and got engaged during the show's finale in Mexico.

The pair later tied the knot in January 2016 for a televised special on ABC, and then they hashed out their issues when they appeared on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars in late 2016.
