People added two and two and got five, said an Irish bishop who denied he christened the sons of former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and her husband, David.

Church of Ireland Bishop Paul Colton told the Daily Mail he was not flown to the family's mansion in Hertfordshire last week to baptize the Beckham's sons -- Brooklyn, 5, and Romeo, 2. Colton said he was visiting parishioners in England.
"It would appear to be a classic case of adding two and two and making five," the bishop of Cork told the newspaper. "This sort of thing is a product of the prurient obsession that many in the media and in society at large have with celebrity families such as David and Victoria Beckham and their children."
Colton said, "The simple fact of the matter is that I did not officiate at this occasion."
About 100 guests attended the ceremony, including godparents Sir Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley, the newspaper said.
