Bakeries in Iran are joining in the protest of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed published in Denmark newspapers by banning the name of Danish pastries.

The confectioners' union in Tehran ordered all bakeries to now refer to the pastries as "Roses of the Prophet Mohammed," the BBC reports.
Angry and sometimes violent protests have spread throughout Europe and the Middle East after a Danish newspaper published cartoons with the image of Mohammed.
Publishing that image violates Muslim tradition and law, let alone comics that show the prophet as a terrorist.
The comics were republished in papers in Europe and the United States.
A boycott of Danish products ensued but didn't cover the pastries since they are not imported but made in local bakeries.
Tehran pastry shop owner Ahmad Mahmoudi said the name change "is a punishment for those who start misusing freedom of expression to insult the sanctities of Islam."
