The Thanksgiving Day incident began about 9:30 a.m. when the two men in haz-mat suits allegedly forced their way into the home and assaulted a young man and woman inside, WCCO-TV, Minneapolis, reported Friday.
A witness told WCCO one neighbor comforted the couple while two other men chased the two intruders, who allegedly were dropping cash while trying to get out of their protective suits.
Police arrived and arrested the suspected assailants.
Police Sgt. Jesse Garcia said officers then went inside the victims' home and found more than 100 pot plants growing inside, along with methamphetamine.
While the two attack suspects were in custody, their victims apparently left the hospital where they had been taken for treatment of their injuries. Police said they expected to take them into custody before long, WCCO said.
