'I'm A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!' ratings flounder, but ABC holds out hope

Variety reports that the ratings for ABC's unprecedented every-night showing of I'm A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here! had remained unimpressive through the first four nights of the show, but that ABC was hoping that Saturday's ratings might indicate that the series was picking up some momentum.
Celebrity lost audience share from its lead-in on both Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, it at least outperformed ABC's normal Thursday-at-10 ratings. On Friday, though, it limped to fourth place in the 10 PM race, even though its lead-in (America's Funniest Home Videos, the show that wouldn't die) ranked first. On Saturday, however, Celebrity placed a close second in the 10 PM race among the 18-49 demographic and actually increased its audience during the hour.
This week, with the beginning of the voting to boot "celebrities," will represent the true test of Celebrity's drawing power. Now that sweeps are over, Celebrity may come into its own -- or maybe it already has. Only time will tell.
