Howard Stern rips CBS on 'The Late Show With David Letterman'
UPI News Service, 03/14/2006
CBS did not have much to say Tuesday about shock jock Howard Stern's lashing of the network on its own "The Late Show With David Letterman."
The former CBS Radio employee now employed by Sirius Satellite Radio, Stern used CBS airwaves Monday night to label CBS Chairman Les Moonves a bully for the lawsuit the network filed against Stern, alleging multiple breaches of his contract, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.
The suit claims Stern cut a secret deal to lure listeners to Sirius while he was still a CBS employee.
Wearing a T-shirt with a picture of Moonves and his wife, CBS "Early Show" anchor Julie Chen, Stern told Letterman: "I believe you are working for one of the biggest jerks on the planet."
A CBS spokesman told the Daily News no effort was made to keep Stern off Letterman and called his appearance a "desperate attempt to distract attention from the facts of the case."
