A bachelor Massachusetts police officer dubbed one of the sexiest men in the country by People magazine says he's just too busy for dating.

Peabody Police officer Mark Saia, 43, made the annual hunk list when a photograph ran in the Salem News of the patrolman carrying a family from their car during last month's floods.

Saia told the Boston Herald some friends had been trying to play matchmaker for him since he was featured in the magazine, but said his life's pretty full already with his regular police work, his role in the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team and studying for his master's degree in criminal justice

"I'm a little more serious than a lot of this stuff," he said. "Dating right now is difficult, but I'm trying to make time."
