St. Joseph's Women's Hospital spokeswoman Jackie Farruggio said it is unusual to have that many sets of twins at the hospital at one time, although doctors at the facility delivered 127 sets of twins last year, the Tampa Tribune reported Wednesday.
"It was surprising and exciting," said nurse Shannon Higgins. She said hospital staffers have been jokingly saying, "Don't drink the water unless you want twins."
Farruggio said one set of twins was born Wednesday, three sets were born Thursday and the final two sets were born Friday.
