U.S. singers Mary J. Blige, Eve, Dr. Dre and others connected to the song "Not Today" are being sued by the owners of the copyright to "Holiday."

In court documents, the publishing company of "Holiday" alleges "Not Today" contains several unequivocal points of duplication of "Holiday," the signature hit sung by Madonna in 1983, reported the syndicated TV show "Celebrity Justice."
The duplication includes sections of the rhythm and much of the harmonic content, the court documents said.
Judith Finnell, a New York musicologist and expert witness on copyright infringement compared the songs for "Celebrity Justice"
"Both the pitches and the rhythms sound closely related," she said. "I don't think they're identical, because Madonna's song is in what we call major key and Blige's song is in a minor key."
