The historic downtown of The Grove, Texas, has been put up for sale with a $1 million minimum starting bid.

Bidding for The Grove's downtown, which includes five buildings on about a half-acre of land, closes Wednesday, the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported Monday.
The buildings include a two-story, red-brick general store that dates back to 1917. The building, which holds an old bank, a post office and a small doctor's office, is also host to The Grove Museum, which opens on weekends to display antiques and historical items from the city.
"We hope that somebody buys it and keeps it the way it is," life-long The Grove resident Rodgers Symm, 73, said of the downtown area.
Austin real estate agent David Spencer, who is running the downtown's auction on eBay, said several people have requested information about The Grove.
"I've gotten plenty of media attention, and if it doesn't sell I've got a whole lot of ideas to promote the town," he said.
