Some call it "the Oscar curse," but others say it was a nasty snit that led to a split between Hollywood couple Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe.

CBS's "Early Show" reported this week that the couple had "exchanged words" at an after-party for the premiere of Phillippe's new movie, "Flags of Our Fathers." It's the old story that he wanted to stay and she wanted to leave, that perhaps started led to accusations of infidelity in private.

CBS reports that Phillippe had an "intimate" dinner with a co-star while filming in Austin, Texas. No records of divorce being filed have been found, but the two have separated.

Some Hollywood observers have connected the dots and come up with Witherspoon's recent Academy Award for "Walk the Line" as the source of trouble in the marriage.
