A German supermarket said its doors would remain closed until pest control workers locate and capture a venomous banana spider spotted in the shop.
Officials at the Saarland store in Bexbach said pest control workers and representatives from the zoo in Neunkirchen were trying to locate the spider, which was spotted crawling out of a crate of fruit when workers opened it, allvoices.com reported Monday.
The banana spider is native to Central and South America and its venom can be life-threatening.
