E! Online said the announcement regarding the fate of the popular show was made during a Television Critics Association conference Tuesday morning.
Representatives from FX told reporters the network had placed a final, 19-episode order for the series.
Eight new episodes taped for Season 5, which were delayed because of the recent Writers Guild of America strike, are also set to air, in addition to the final 19 that are still to be shot.
The show's creator and executive producer, Ryan Murphy, is expected to remain with "Nip/Tuck" until the end of the show's run, E! Online said.
