Wisconsin's Beloit College released its annual "Mindset List" for the incoming freshman class, reminding the staff that the students likely don't know cursive.

The list, which began in 1998 as a way to "look at the cultural touchstones that shape the lives of students entering college this fall," documents 75 cultural facts about the incoming freshman class, including the fact that the students grew up in a world where having 500 channels on cable TV is normal and they never knew John McEnroe as a tennis pro.

To the incoming class, "Fergie is a pop singer, not a princess," and the students "never twisted the coiled handset wire aimlessly around their wrists while chatting on the phone," the authors of the list said.
