District Fire Chief Randy Wyse said the blaze was caused when firefighters at Station 17 left the stove on in their rush to go out on a call, WJXT-TV, Jacksonville, Fla., reported Monday. The firefighters returned to find their station in flames.
Fire officials said the station has been temporarily closed and it is not yet known how much the damage will cost to repair.
