UPI News Service, 09/18/2007

Former U.S. President Gerald Ford is part of the landscape in Kalamazoo County, Mich., at least until the snow falls.

Gull Meadow Farms near Richland designed a corn maze in the likeness of Ford as a way of paying tribute to the 38th president, who grew up in western Michigan, WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo, Mich., reported.

The owners said a design company drew up the plans and as the corn began to grow, a likeness of Ford's face was staked out in the field. Ford died earlier this year.

Corn mazes such as Ford's face have become an integral part of of Michigan's "agri-tainment" because they usually include a pumpkin patch, children's activities and apple picking, David Wendzel of Gull Meadow Farms told WWMT-TV.
