Fare-dodging bus surfers caught on video in New York

UPI News Service, 01/02/2018

A traveler on a busy New York thoroughfare captured video of two fare-dodging commuters taking a free ride on the back of a public transit bus.

Twitter user @kevinyue_ posted a video to the microblogging site on Christmas Eve showing what appears to be two men holding tight to the back of a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus as it travels on Richmond Ave. in Staten Island.

"Miss the bus?" the Twitter user wrote in text on the video."NOT TODAY!"

He said it was a scene "straight out of the movies."

An MTA spokeswoman blasted the fare-dodging riders for their dangerous stunt.

"This is an extremely dangerous and illegal -- not to mention stupid -- activity to engage in, and we encourage motorists or anyone who witnesses this behavior to immediately notify the bus operator if possible, or call police," spokeswoman Amanda Kwan told NBC New York.
