Evans, the widow of rap pioneer Notorious B.I.G., was apparently taken into custody in the Marina del Rey area Saturday night and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.
There was no immediate word on the singer's blood-alcohol level or other circumstances of her arrest.
Evans has been involved in the LA hip-hop scene since the 1990s when she became the first female artist signed by Sean Combs' Bad Boy Entertainment record label.
