A former New York psychiatrist and manager of the heavy metal band Kiss remained in jail Sunday, refusing to pay any of his back child support.

The New York Post said that Jesse Hilsen holds the record for deadbeat parents in the city.

Hilsen was arrested last year at his uncle's mansion in the Catskills after spending 10 years on the run in Europe and South Africa. His ex-wife, Rita, believes he has concealed millions of dollars in assets overseas.

The Post says that Hilsen would be free if he agreed to start making payments on his back child support. He reportedly owes his children $400,000 and his ex-wife $2 million.

Under the terms of the couple's 1988 divorce, Rita Hilsen was to receive $750 a week and the children $200 each, but her husband never paid up.

Two members of the band were subpoenaed in 2003 to testify on Kiss's financial relationship with Hilsen.
