Emma Slater is smiling ear-to-ear and gushing about her marriage proposal from Sasha Farber live on Dancing with the Stars.

Farber proposed to Slater -- who are both pro partners on Dancing with the Stars -- during Tuesday night's live results show. The special moment occurred after the couple danced a contemporary routine together to "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars following a commercial break.

"It doesn't really feel real that I just went through that and that's what we did. I think it was perfect for me, honestly. I'm so glad that you decided to do that, [Sasha], because all of our family and friends were there," Slater told ABC News after the show.

"I mean obviously for family, a lot of mine are in England and Sasha's are in Australia, but on Dancing with the Stars, the people that work here, you become so close that you're all family and you love each other endlessly."

Slater said the energy in the ballroom was electric after the proposal and the whole idea was "really great."

"To be able to [get engaged] and then immediately share it and see the surprise on people's faces and their excitement, it was great to share that and then turn to people who are just, like, so ecstatic for you. It felt massive!" Slater exclaimed.

"And then apparently there were streamers and people cheering and I just didn't register anything because I was just in so much happiness."

Slater apparently knew Farber was getting ready to pop the question when DWTS host Tom Bergeron handed him a microphone and he turned to Slater and took her hand. Slater revealed she wanted to put her hands over her mouth in shock but Farber was squeezing them too tight and wouldn't let them go.

"And then when you were trying to get the ring out of your pocket, it felt like an eternity!" Slater joked to her new fiance. "I was literally almost going to be like, 'Get it out! Just quicker! Quicker!'"

When Slater said "yes," tears of joy streamed down her face.

"Me crying, I'm sure it looks really ugly, but I don't care," Slater said with a laugh.

As for her engagement ring, Slater revealed to ABC News, "I picked it out. It's a sapphire and it's kind of like a vintage, rosy color, like a brownish pink, and I just love that color. My mom's wedding ring was the same thing and I like vintage-y rings."

In a separate interview with Us Weekly, Slater explained that her engagement to Farber felt like a "natural progression." The couple has been dating for five years, although they started out as friends two years before getting romantically involved. And just recently, they bought a home in Los Angeles together.

"My mum said to me once that marriage should feel natural and not like a surprise, it should feel expected because that's when it's right," Slater told Us.

She then joked to her future husband in front of reporters, "And it's already felt like I've been your fiancee or your wife for years. So it feels really natural. Apart from the new heaviness of my arm, it feels really natural!"

Slater added that she doesn't mind a long engagement, however, she thinks "a year is nice."

Farber is still competing on Dancing with the Stars' current season with Little Women: LA star Terra Jole. Slater was unfortunately eliminated from the competition last week with her celebrity partner Ricky Perry, a former U.S. presidential candidate.
