Eminem's publisher is demanding Apple pay more than $2 million in a settlement over iTunes downloads, court records in Detroit reveal.

The Detroit News reported the settlement, undisclosed until now, has grown to more than $2.2 million, including attorney fees, court records indicated. It was unclear which company was responsible for paying the settlement, but the only defendants in the case are Apple and Aftermath Records.

Eminem's music publisher, of Eight Mile Style LLC of Ferndale, Mich., filed a request under seal Tuesday with a U.S. District Court judge in Detroit to enforce the deal.

Eight Mile Style lawyers Howard Hertz and Richard S. Busch did not return calls from the News seeking comment Friday.

Eight Mile Style and Apple reached a settlement a year ago after a brief trial.

The main issue was whether a record deal between Aftermath Records and an Eminem representative gave copyright licenses to the hip-hop artist's compositions that allowed digital downloads through Apple's iTunes store.

Eminem was not a party to the lawsuit.
