Elton John's publicist says the British pop star and his longtime partner David Furnish have become parents to a boy born via surrogate.
"We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment," the couple said in a statement issued to People.com.
"Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents."
John and Furnish exchanged vows in a civil ceremony in 2005.
