'Elm Street' remake tops weekend movie box office, 'Dragon' second

The remake of the classic fright fest "A Nightmare on Elm Street" opened in first place at the U.S. box office this weekend, earning an estimated $32.2 million.

In its sixth week in release, the 3D animated feature "How to Train Your Dragon" took in $10.8 million to run its overall total to $192.3 million, box-office tracker Box Office Mojo reported.
The Tina Fey-Steve Carrell romantic-action comedy "Date Night" was third with $7.6 million and the Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy "The Back-Up Plan" was fourth with $7.2 million. "Furry Vengeance," a family comedy starring Brendan Fraser," was No. 5 with $6.5 million in its opening weekend.
The rest of the top 10: "The Losers" ($6 million); "Clash of the Titans ($5.9 million); "Kick-Ass" ($4.4 million); "Death at a Funeral" ($4 million); and "Oceans" ($2.6 million).
