Emmy Award-winning designer Niklas J. Palm is suing actress Melanie Griffith for $26,000 for the dress she wore at the Golden Globes.

Palm's suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Friday and posted at TMZ.com, claims Palm designed the gowns worn by Griffith and her daughters, Dakota Johnson and Stella Banderas, to the Golden Globe Awards with the understanding they would credit him during their red carpet interviews.

However, not only did he fail to get a mention, Griffith reportedly claimed she designed her own gown, the suit says. The suit also says Griffith still owes him nearly $26,000 for the gowns.

The suit charges Griffith and her husband, actor Antonio Banderas, with breach of contract for the outstanding bill and intentional misrepresentation for her failure to mention his name, which would have meant "publicity that money could not buy."

Palm won an Emmy in 2004 as part of the costuming crew for HBO's "Carnivale."
