Sarah Griffiths was chosen by Lynn News to push the detonation button for the Campbell's Tower in King's Lynn, England, Sunday after sharing the story of how her father died from severe scalding he incurred during a steam blast when the factory was in operation, Lynn News said.
"As I was doing it, I was just thinking of my dad and got a flashback of the last time I saw him in hospital at Norwich," Griffiths said after bringing down the 52-year-old building. "When I felt the thud as it hit the ground, everything felt complete. Now my family can move on and not live in the shadow of that building any longer."
