Demi Moore's publicist says the Hollywood actress, who recently split from her husband, actor Ashton Kutcher, is being treated for exhaustion.

People.com quoted a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department as saying someone was taken by ambulance from Moore's home to a hospital Monday night to be treated for "an unknown illness."

"Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health," her representative said in a statement Tuesday. "She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."

The publicist said Moore, 49, no longer plans to play feminist icon Gloria Steinem in "Lovelace" as planned.
