The Washington state woman who claimed she was raped by illusionist David Copperfield has been arrested on prostitution charges, police said.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Seattle recently announced it would not pursue a criminal case against Copperfield after Lacey L. Carroll, a 23-year-old waitress and aspiring model, said the entertainer sexually assaulted her in the Bahamas in 2007.
The Bellevue (Wash.) City Prosecutor's Office charged Carroll Tuesday with prostitution and filing a false report after she allegedly tried to get a man to pay $2,000 for sex last month, and then accused him of abusing her when he turned her down, The Seattle Times reported Wednesday.
Carroll's lawyer, Becky Roe, told the Times by e-mail Tuesday the "charges are unfounded and Ms. Carroll will be acquitted."
