A foundation that studies the quality of life in Europe concludes people in Denmark are much happier living in the city than the country.

The findings by the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions are puzzling in light of figures showing 55,000 Danes move to the country each year, The Copenhagen Post reported Friday.
Researchers for the Danish Building Research Institute say the contradiction can be explained by the fact that many people harbor romanticized ideas about country living.
When they actually experience rural living, they find it is not what they expected, the newspaper said.
