Dancing with the Stars eliminated Vernon Davis and his professional partner Peta Murgatroyd after the 11 remaining couples of Season 29 each took the stage and performed a new dance during Monday night's episode on ABC.

The former NFL football player and Peta landed in the bottom-two couples along with figure skater and Olympic medalist Johnny Weir and partner Britt Stewart based on the combination of judges' scores and home-viewer votes cast live as Dancing with the Stars aired in the Eastern and Central time zones on Monday night.

Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli were then able to vote to save one of the bottom-two couples from elimination.

Derek voted to save Johnny and Britt and then Carrie Ann voted to save Vernon and Peta.

Bruno, casting the tiebreaker vote, decided to save Johnny and Britt, and so Vernon and Peta were sent packing.

As Dancing with the Stars is hitting its mid-season stride, the competition is becoming more fierce.

A whopping four couples topped the scoring leaderboard and tied for first place after they earned 27 points -- three 9's each -- out of 30 possible points from the Dancing with the Stars judges.

The four celebrities who won the night were Season 11 The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe, CHEER head coach Monica Aldama, Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean, and actress Justina Machado.

Kaitlyn and partner Artem Chigvintsev performed the samba, and while the dance was near-technically perfect, the judges agreed they want to see more "attack" and energy from Kaitlyn onstage.

Monica and partner Val Chmerkovskiy danced a 27-point worthy rumba.

AJ and partner Cheryl Burke took the stage with a samba routine, and Justina and partner Sasha Farber performed a Viennese waltz.

Fifth place on the judges' leaderboard went to Catfish creator and host Nev Schulman and partner Jenna Johnson, who received 26 points for their jazz routine.

The Real co-host and fashion correspondent Jeannie Mai and partner Brandon Armstrong finished in sixth place on the judges' leaderboard with 25 points.

Jeannie and Brandon earned 25 points for their rumba routine.

Two couples tied for seventh place on the judges' leaderboard with 24 points apiece: Rapper Nelly and partner Daniella Karagach as well as Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause and partner Gleb Savchenko.

Nelly and Daniella performed the Viennese waltz, and Chrishell and Gleb danced a contemporary routine.

Johnny and Britt claimed ninth place on the judges' leaderboard with 22 points for their salsa routine.

And although they were eliminated from the show at the end of Monday night's broadcast, Vernon and Peta did not fall to the very bottom of the judges' leaderboard.

Vernon and Peta finished the night in tenth place on the leaderboard after receiving 21 points for their cha cha performance.

Skai unfortunately had a little misstep in the middle of her dance routine that cost her points.
