Dancing with the Stars eliminated Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and dance partner Karina Smirnoff during Tuesday night's fourth live eleventh-season results show on ABC.

Sorrentino and Smirnoff were ousted from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges' scores they received during Monday night's performance show and the home viewer votes that were cast afterwards.

"I definitely was [committed to the competition].  I told myself if I got eliminated today I put it all on the floor last night, so if it was, I bow gracefully," Sorrentino said after his elimination.

"It is what it is.  I tried my best and at the end of the day, someone's got to go home.  It is the fourth round, and if I made it to the fourth round that was my best I guess."

Sorrentino and Smirnoff had finished in ninth and last place on Monday night's judging leaderboard after they performed an Argentine tango which received only 28 out of 60 possible points (12 technical points, 16 performance points) from Dancing with the Stars judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli

While Inaba had claimed to have seen "true improvement" and been more supportive, Tonioli and Goodman had both been highly critical of Sorrentino's performance.

"Michael, you know that was a terrible mess... [there were] an incredible amount of mistakes... so you did as best as you could in a really, really, really, really, terrible, terrible situation," Tonioli said.

"It was consistent -- it was bad throughout," Goodman added.

Tuesday night's results show also featured footage of Sorrentino's post-show reaction to the judges' Monday night scores -- which ended with the Jersey Shore star storming out of Dancing with the Stars' studio and reportedly "sulking" in the parking lot as a friend attempted to console him.

"The judges were so un-positive and didn't even see the work I've put in.  Didn't even see the progress that I've made this week, and you know what, I'm like done with this -- I'm done with it!" Sorrentino said before he walked off and ended a joint interview with Smirnoff abruptly.

"Those lifts were extremely, extremely hard and they didn't mention one thing!  So now I know they're hating."

Teen mom Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas were the other couple still in danger of elimination prior to Sorrentino and Smirnoff's ouster, however Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron did not specify whether they were the other couple in the bottom two based on the combination of the judges' scoring and home viewer votes from Monday night's performances.

Palin and Ballas had finished in eighth place on the leaderboard after their rumba received only 32 total points (18 technical points, 14 performance points) from the judges.
