Team Carrie Ann member Alyssa became the fifth contestant cut from Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann during last night's live penultimate broadcast of the new ABC reality competition series.

The 20-year-old from Fresno, CA was eliminated from Dance War by her "Team Captain" Carrie Ann Inaba after her squad received the lowest number of home viewer votes cast immediately following last Monday night's live broadcast.

"Whatever you guys saw or whatever you thought of me tonight, I just really want to let you guys know that I love these people so much and all that I truly cared about -- throughout this whole journey --  was about the team," said Alyssa after her ouster was revealed.  "So please still vote for Team Carrie Ann, because they deserve to win."

Last Monday night's episode theme was country music and saw Team Bruno and Team Carrie Ann perform twice each, with Team Bruno performing "Life is a Highway" and "These Boots were Made for Walking" while Team Carrie Ann performed "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" and "Upside Down." In addition, all 11 contestants performed a group number -- "Loud" -- at the beginning of the live broadcast.

At the conclusion of last night's live broadcast, Dance War host Drew Lachey revealed that Team Bruno -- led by Carrie Ann's fellow Dancing with the Stars judge Bruno Tonioli -- had received the most viewer votes for the first time in the competition.

"I can't believe it... I can't believe it," mumbled Bruno as he collapsed to his knees after it was revealed his squad had finally won a home viewer vote.

Carrie Ann was also emotional, knowing she'd have to eliminate her first member on the cusp of the finale.

"I'm devastated.  I wanted this team to stay.  They've worked so hard and they've really proven to me that they can do it," said Carrie Ann.  "I'm sad that I'll have to send somebody home tonight, because they're special."

Carrie Ann then revealed Qis, a 26-year-old from Los Angeles, CA; Bradley, a 24-year-old from Nashville, TN; Mariel, a 19-year-old from Chicago, IL; and Elizabeth, a 20-year-old from Riverside, CA, were all safe, leaving Alyssa and Chris, an 18-year-old from San Bernardino, CA, up for elimination.

Alyssa and Chris then performed a duet before Carrie Ann made her final decision.

"First of all, I truly, sincerely love both of you and I'm so sorry that we're in this position," said Carrie Ann.  "But as you know, this is how things go, and some things are beyond your control.  You have done fabulously and I am so proud of you.  But there is one person I have to keep, and that person is Chris."

Prior to last week's voting results being revealed during last night's broadcast, the two teams each performed two Latin routines for home viewers, who were once again able to vote immediately following the broadcast.   Team Carrie Ann performed "Conga and "I Need to Know" while Team Bruno performed "Sway" and "Whine Up."

Team Bruno's four remaining members are: Kelse, a 20-year-old from West Monroe, LA; Phillip, a 24-year-old from Sterling, VA; and Lacey, a 22-year-old from Nashville, TN; and Zack, a 25-year-old from Saratoga Springs, UT.
