A North Carolina father said he proposed to the mother of his newborn with a specially-made infant bodysuit reading, "Mommy, will you marry my Daddy?"

Daniel Overbey, 25, of Graham, said he had the garment specially made for Grayson Trent Overbey, who was born July 25 at Alamance Regional Medical Center, and had a nurse take the baby to mother Lauren Brame, 23, while he knelt at the side of her hospital bed with an engagement ring, The Times-News, Burlington, N.C., reported Monday.

Overbey said he added the bodysuit to his proposal plans because he knew Brame wouldn't be as surprised with just the ring.

"She had been dropping hints and ideas [for the ring], he said.

The couple said they are hoping for a spring or fall wedding after baby Grayson is about a year old.
