The paper said Shepherd -- who starred in the 2003 movie "Martha, Inc.: The Story of Martha Stewart" -- will once again play the homemaking guru in a new film that will focus on Stewart's criminal trial and five-month stretch at Alderson Federal Prison, including her release earlier this month.
The new movie, called "Martha," will be shot in Toronto. CBS has not said when it will air.
"Martha, Inc.: The Story of Martha Stewart" was the highest-rated TV movie of the 2002-03 season when it aired on NBC. That film included scenes about the charges that Stewart lied to federal regulators about a 2001 stock sale.
Stewart was recently released from prison and remains tethered to an electronic monitoring device.
