Crystal Bowersox: I knew Lee Dewyze was going to win 'American Idol'

Crystal Bowersox claims she experienced "this strange sense of peace and calm" that told her Lee Dewyze was going to win American Idol.

"I knew Lee was going to win," Bowersox told reporters after Wednesday night's finale, according to The Los Angeles Times.

"I just had a feeling and I couldn't be happier for him. Lee deserves every minute of this."

Dewyze defeated Bowersox and was crowned American Idol's ninth-season winner during Wednesday night's live finale broadcast on Fox.

However Bowersox doesn't agree with some supporters' belief that losing American Idol's title is a good thing as she'll now have more control over her debut album.

"Lee doesn't have any less freedom than I do," Bowersox said.

"There are contracts and everything, but [other than] less money, there's really not that much of a difference. Lee and I both said all along that no matter what happens, as long as we're the final two together, it was gonna be fine.... I'm happy for whatever outcome, both of us are going to have successful careers and do this for a long time."

Bowersox said in addition to learning that she can "walk in heels," her American Idol journey also taught her more important lessons.

"I've learned a lot about myself and the business," she told reporters. "My life is never going to be the same."

Dewyze's American Idol victory came during Simon Cowell's final time on the show's judging panel, and Bowersox said she shared a hug and an apology from Cowell after the finale broadcast.

"Don't be sorry for me. I couldn't be happier," Bowersox said, adding Cowell responded, "Okay, well I'm not sorry for you."
