The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the champion jumper, whose real name is John Winkelkotter, was arrested on the city's north side after he and 23-year-old man parachuted off of the towering crane late Friday.
"They provided full confessions, that their motivation was thrill-seeking," Chicago Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said. Both men and their getaway driver were charged with misdemeanors.
When asked about her 39-year-old husband's penchant for leaping from tall structures, a woman who claimed to be Winkelkotter's wife denied having knowledge of the death-defying feat but admitted she wasn't surprised.
"It's his profession," she told the paper, while refusing to give her name. "Different things for different people."
